Probably one of the most prevalent beliefs out there where fitness is concerned is that carbs can make you fat. However, not only has this been found out to be a myth, diets that are low in carb are actually discovered to increase the risks of early deaths. The reason for this is because low carb diets tend to be low in important nutrients, something that people naturally get from vegetables and fruits that are full of fibres.

A lot of people believe that eggs are bad for them. However, there is really no conclusive proof that points to eating eggs increasing the cholesterol level. It is the fact that eggs tend to be packed with nutrients along with such a high level of cholesterol content that caused many people to try to avoid eating it in large quantities. New research, however, suggests that there is really no link between high egg consumption to cholesterol imbalances. Eating up to a dozen eggs every week is actually find and should not increase risks of heart problems.

There is also an ongoing belief that eating late at night will make you put on weight. As it turns out, it is not really when you eat but the amount that you consume that will really matter. One needs to remember that regardless of when you eat them, calories are still going to be calories. If you eat way more energy compared to what your body really consumes, then you put on weight. At the end of the day, it is really the total amount of calories that you consume and then burns, it does not matter when.

If you think low-fat is healthy, you are dead wrong. Over the years, many dieters have focused on avoiding foods with fat content like the plague. As it turned out, many of the products that are supposed to be low fat are actually dense with sugar content in order to maintain their taste. Besides, eating a high-fat diet containing cheese, red meat, and butter do not only help you lose your belly fat, but it can also lower the risks of heart diseases as well.

A gluten-free diet is not healthier too. While there are people who chose to go for this diet due to them being intolerant of gluten, there are people who choose to do so simply because of the belief that gluten-free is the healthier option. However, there is really no tangible proof for that and the only people that should avoid consuming gluten are those identified as coeliacs.
